After School Enrichment Classes

During Fall, Winter, and Spring, we partner with area PPS schools to bring the BaxterSports Summer camp experience to After School. Our programs offer one hour of dynamic, screen-free engagement immediately following the school day. This time is carefully balanced between structured/guided activities and supervised free play, ensuring children receive both instruction and the critical opportunity for self-directed exploration and creativity.

Good Sports Club K-5

  • Inclusion: Actively welcoming all peers and celebrating diverse abilities.
  • Growth: Embracing challenges with a growth mindset and viewing mistakes as learning opportunities.
  • Heart: Playing with passion, resilience, and genuine kindness towards others.
  • Teamwork: Cooperating effectively, communicating positively, and supporting teammates.

  •

Activites and Curriculum

  • Skills Training: Focused drills to improve fundamental athletic motor skills (e.g., throwing, catching, kicking, agility).
  • Cooperative Games: Fostering collaboration, problem-solving, and communication over competition.
  • Light Competition: Structured games and scrimmages across various sports and activities, designed to be developmentally appropriate and focused on applying “The R.I.G.H.T. Way” values.
  •

By participating in a diverse range of sports and games, students develop well-rounded athleticism, discover new passions/favorites, and learn the invaluable lesson that being a good sport is the most important part of the game.

  • Public Speaking: Students will gain confidence and clarity in expressing their ideas, learning how to present themselves and their thoughts effectively to both peers and adults.
  • Team-Building Activities: Carefully structured challenges will help students develop trust, communication, and mutual respect within a group setting.
  •

Key Skills Students Will Master

  • How to Lead: Understanding the different styles of leadership, taking initiative, and motivating others.
  • How to Be Coachable: Developing a growth mindset, accepting constructive feedback, and applying lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • How to Handle Pressure: Building resilience, managing stress in competitive or challenging situations, and making sound decisions under duress.
  • Effective Communication: Mastering the art of clear, respectful, and assertive communication with peers, teachers, coaches, and other adults.

By participating, students will not only enhance their immediate performance in school and extracurricular activities but also build a powerful foundation for future success in college, career, and life.
