All Girls All Sports Camps

Who Run
The World?

Over the years, we’ve heard from parents that their daughters love spending their summers at our All Sports Camp, but their one wish is for more girls! Our response was to come up with a camp not only guaranteeing MORE girls, but ALL girls. In doing so, we created a summer experience that was devoted to female competitors of all skill, experience, and grade levels while being run entirely by women athletes and coaches.

These camps give young female athletes the space to learn, experiment, and find themselves on the field. Our All Girls camps expand on the All Sports experience with a larger focus on both team building and individual success through collaboration, positivity, and creativity.

In case you hadn’t noticed, women's sports is having a moment:

  • For the first time in the history of the NCAA Basketball Championships, the ratings for the women’s final toppled that of the men’s.
  • The popularity of the WNBA is on such a rise that multiple teams can now boast sold out season ticket plans, and viewership for the 2024 championship series increased 86% from the previous season.
  • In  2024, the US Open tennis tournament—held inside the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center–celebrated its 50th year of equal prize money for men and women.
  • And some of the most vocal champions for equal pay, the USWNT, shook off a disappointing Women’s World Cup result, charged into the Paris Olympics, and returned with their 5th team gold.

Alongside those great stats for women athletes are some doozies for adolescent girls:

  • One in three girls participate in a sport from age 6-12, according to the Aspen Institute, but nearly one in two girls will quit sports during puberty. By age 14, girls stop playing sports at a rate that is six times greater than boys.
  • In a 2023 survey of more than 17,500 girls in 5th through 12th grades, about 40 percent of girls in 8th through 12th grades and about 35 percent in 5th through 7th grades reported feeling depressed at least four days per week.
  • Research shows several concerning outcomes regarding social media and girl’s self-esteem with its pervasive culture of comparison leading to decreased self-confidence
  • Recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that girls are more likely than their male peers to be depressed and to have recently considered suicide.

But Here’s What We Know:

  •  Girls who play sports before reaching college have higher levels of self-esteem and lower chances of developing depression.
  • Girls and women who play sports have better body images compared to those who do not.
  • In a survey of 1,100 women aged 18 and up, 85 percent of women who were involved in athletics believe the skills they developed playing sports impacted their success in their careers.

If confidence is built not through compliments, but through experiences, then it’s important to focus on the things we’re doing to provide girls with opportunities to experience success and feel competent and capable.

And, yes–we’ve got a camp for that!

Our All Girls Camps include the same fun sports and games we play at All Sports Camp, but with an emphasis on the silly and spontaneous to take pressure off of performance and highlight the freedom for girls to move their bodies and simply play.

To up the level of the girls’ engagement, we add more unusual and cooperative activities such as scavenger hunts, coaches bingo, self-designed obstacle courses, olympic team banners, and events like “Wacky Hair(ry Potter) & Outfit Day” that promote creativity, sharing and discovery.

Opportunities to empower our female campers are built into our daily and weekly camp structure. Each individual camper as well as each cohort are put in charge of various camp activities where they can exercise their voice, choice and authority. For example, it’s an All Girls Camp tradition that the yellow group (campers aged 8-9) are given the reins as the stage managers for our camp talent show, and they have consistently and successfully produced an afternoon-long event of epic proportions!

Our All Girls Camp coaches and staff are just that too, all female! These truly relatable role models inspire our campers by expanding for them all the different ways you can be a girl in sports and in life.

We finish off our camp week with team competitions and a celebration of our time together that culminates in a coach-designed award ceremony that highlights displays of winning behavior including but not limited to: responsibility, inclusion, gratitude, attitude, effort, and teamwork. It’s our goal that our All Girl campers leave armed with the skills to take on whatever the world throws at them and yes, even to run this thing!

Youth Leadership Development at
All Girls Camp

But wait there’s more! Is your potential female camper a rising 9th or 10th grader? We also offer an intensive experience of coaching and leadership through a combination of educational and practical exercises at our All Girls Youth Leadership Development Program.

These camps focus on skills such as:

1 – Public speaking
2 – Communication and teamwork
3 – Goal setting
4 – Sport psychology and positive mindset
5 – Planning and executing activities

In order to give campers a firsthand experience in what it’s like to be a BaxterSports Camp coach, the day is split into a morning session where the discussion revolves around leadership topics that campers can use in school, sports, and other areas of life, and an afternoon session where campers put these skills into practice within the broader All Girls Camp.

At All Girls All Sports Camp, each day is comprised of a combination of active play and free play. We’ll spend our mornings doing skills training in sports like basketball, soccer, tennis, and softball, then transition into shade games and all-camp events. Each afternoon brings a different activity such as obstacle course design, scavenger hunt, talent show, Halloween in July, and a coaches vs. campers water battle we like to call “Frozen 3”.

Making friends, getting exercise and having tons of fun!
